Join Dr. Mark Carlson for a hands-on, practical workshop for mental health professionals in the Duluth area. He will offer tips and tools to assist you in helping your clients build lasting change, increase life satisfaction, and connect more deeply with their values and purpose.
In this session, we will focus on helping clients find motivation and foster sustainable change.
Through an engaging blend of lecture, interactive workshops, and real-world application, you’ll explore how to help the following types of clients:
- Challenging clients
- Clients with chronic conditions, including safety issues, trauma, and dual disorder
- Serious and persistent mental illness diagnoses
- Serious depression or anxiety
Clients with significant mental health diagnoses are frequently stuck in chronic patterns of ineffective responses to challenges and stressors in their lives. This can lead to a loss of hope and a general demoralization that can sap motivation for change, resulting in sporadic and short attempts at change. When this happens, it can further erode hope for change and deepen a sense of demoralization.
To address this, in this session, we will discuss interventions that are more sustained and methods to improve clients’ ability to track just noticeable change.
This workshop goes beyond theory. You’ll walk away with tools and insights you can immediately integrate into your clinical work. Thought-provoking discussions and hands-on exercises will bring these concepts to life, giving you a renewed perspective on guiding clients toward growth and fulfillment.
