In this full-day, in-person training, trauma expert Julie Morin breaks down the basics of trauma and how it fully impacts individuals and their mental health.
This session will be held in Duluth, and is eligible for 7 CEUs.
Objectives:
Participants will gain an understanding of trauma symptoms and the impact traumatic events have on a person’s neurology and nervous system. Participants will gain knowledge to improve awareness of trauma symptoms and how to utilize a trauma-informed approach to therapy. Participants will learn skills to use to teach a client how to regulate the nervous system.
Presenter:
Julie Morin, M.A., LPCC (she/her) earned her M.A. in Clinical Psychology at Argosy University-Twin Cities. She completed her master’s internship at Mental Health Systems, Inc where she completed formal DBT training and conducted group skills training, individual DBT, and diagnostic assessments. She has 11 years of experience utilizing DBT in different IOP settings with both adolescents and adults. Julie has also completed multiple formal training courses through Behavior Tech and PsychWire with Marsha Linehan. She implemented a state certified DBT-A program at DBT-PTSD Specialists in 2021 and directed the state certified DBT program at that clinic. Julie co-developed and implemented a DBT-AIR Network state certified DBT and DBT-A program at Parker Collins Family Mental Health. She also has experience working with complex trauma and dissociative abilities and is a certified practitioner in the application of the AIR Network Model of therapy. Julie is also trained in level 1 and level 2 EMDR and trained in Basic Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART).
