About Mental Health Systems

For more than two decades, Mental Health Systems (MHS) has stood as a cornerstone of our community, offering intensive outpatient programs tailored to the needs of some of our most marginalized groups here in the Twin Cities. Catering to clients aged 12 and above grappling with persistent mental health issues alongside co-occurring challenges in chemical health, pain, and physical well-being, MHS employs something called Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) as a cornerstone of our approach. Our commitment, collective effort, and relentless advocacy for our clients and the wider mental health treatment sphere epitomize the essence of our mission:

  • At MHS, our unwavering dedication revolves around the holistic welfare of our clients, our community, and our personnel. Rooted in principles of acceptance, inclusivity, and curiosity, our endeavors are underpinned by a set of core values. We strive to provide evidence-based therapy services in supportive, respectful, and safe environments, meeting the unique needs of each case.
  • Embracing the ideals of personal and communal growth, MHS instills a sense of responsibility and empowerment among our clients, therapists, and staff alike.
  • MHS holds individual and community health, well-being, and change are based in active respect for, and the promotion of, diversity in culture, race, spirituality, age, sex, sexual orientation, gender identification, and personal potential.
  • Moreover, at MHS we recognize the paramount importance of achieving equilibrium between professional duties and personal life, i.e. striking a positive work/life balance. After all, how can we effectively impart lessons on cultivating a balanced lifestyle if we ourselves are not nurtured within an environment that upholds these values?
