Horizons is a specialized DBT program that is simplified for individuals with mild intellectual disabilities in Minnesota, designed to make emotional regulation skills more accessible, structured, and usable in everyday life.

Is Horizons a good fit?
Horizons may be a good fit if you’re looking for:
- Mental health treatment for adults with intellectual disabilities near you
- DBT for individuals with developmental disorders
- Emotional regulation support for individuals with cognitive differences
To qualify for this program, individuals must be able to retain information and have the ability to independently attend group.
What treatment looks like
Horizons meets in-person, and individuals must be able to attend independently of their caregivers.
This program includes:
- Skills teaching and therapeutic application
- Symptom identification and tracking
- A coordinated team approach to care
Working with care teams
Individuals can continue working with their external providers while participating in our Horizons program.
We aim to complement – not replace – the support they already have whenever possible.
