Trauma affects more than memories. It can disrupt emotions, thinking, the body, behavior, relationships, and a person’s sense of self. When these difficulties overlap, knowing where to begin can be challenging.

In this 50-minute free lunch and learn, MHS co-founder Dr. Lane Pederson introduces the Dialectical Trauma Recovery Model (DTRM), a framework for identifying trauma-related dysregulation and matching DBT skills to specific treatment needs. Through a brief experiential exercise and clinical example, participants will explore the five systems of dysregulation and the RISE method: Recognize, Identify, Skills-based response, and Evaluate.

Participants will also learn how MHS’s RISE Program puts this approach into practice, which clients may benefit from an assessment, and how the program can support ongoing outpatient care. The session provides a preview of a one-day DTRM introductory training planned for early 2027.

This session is eligible for 1 CEU.
