Taryn is a DBT certified Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW). She earned her Master of Social Work (MSW) degree from the University of St. Thomas and College of St. Catherine. In her career, Taryn as provided community-based and in-home skills training for children, adolescents, adults with serious and persistent mental illness, as well as for families. She has been at MHS for seven years and has experience facilitating Adult Three-Day and One-Day DBT programs, Adolescent DBT program, and providing individual therapy. Taryn is the Program Coordinator for Early Adolescent DBT program (EAP) for young people ages 12 to 14 and currently facilitates this program at our Edina location. She continues to work with individual clients and provides clinical supervision. She is also the Community Relations Manager and participates in all-things-related to marketing at MHS.
Taryn uses evidence-based practices to guide her therapeutic approach. She integrates elements of DBT, CBT, systems theory, humanistic approaches, strengths-based approaches, as well as person-centered approaches. She enjoys joining with individuals in a safe and nonjudgmental space where self-acceptance and self-compassion allow for behavior change.
